The Thickness of Laminate Wood Flooring

Laminate wood flooring is available in thicknesses between 6 millimeters and 15 millimeters (6mm to 15mm). A laminate is designed to resist denting to a similar degree. Laminates with a thicker composition are better suited to withstand bending caused by uneven subfloors and reduce noise. Most popular thickness is 8mm and 12mm.

Add Underlayment: This creates a sound barrier and ensures a solid, even surface for your flooring.

Install the Planks: Use the click-lock system to secure the planks, ensuring a snug fit. Don't forget to leave expansion gaps around the edges to prevent buckling with temperature changes.

Precautions for Using Laminate Wood Flooring

Daily: Wipe or vacuum.
Once a week or more: Wipe the floor with a damp mop or a cloth moistened with warm water and a neutral detergent.
Whenever necessary: Remove dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner to avoid dust and dirt build-up.
It is advisable not to let the water station on the floor for a long time.
Avoid using harsh scouring devices or cleaning products as these can wear down the floor's top layer.
Place pads and soft castors under table legs and chairs to prevent scratches and dents.
Lift furniture rather than drag or push it on your laminate flooring to avoid damage.
