Wood Wall Panel Installation
Step 1. Get the Surface Ready: Keep the wall dry, clean, and smooth
Step 2. Cut Panels: Measure wood panels and cut them to fit your wall.
Step 3. Find studs: Use a stud finder to locate studs.
Step 4. Apply Adhesive: For peel-and-stick planks, no adhesive is needed as they come with tape on the back. For other wood panels, like slat wall panels or barn wood planks, use adhesive along with nails or screws for extra stability.
Step 5. Position the Panels: Align the panels with marked points on the wall and press lightly.
Step 6. Check Alignment: Use a laser level to ensure proper alignment and make adjustments within the first 10 minutes.
Step 7. Secure the Panels: For peel and stick planks, press them firmly to the wall. For other wood panel products, you should nail or screw into the studs to secure them in place.
Prevent Moisture Damage: Avoid high-humidity regions and make sure there are no leaks nearby.
Apply Sealer: Use a waterproof sealer on a yearly basis to prevent moisture.
Control Sunlight Exposure: Reduce the amount of direct sunlight to avoid warping and discoloration.
